Tired of living for the second of your life? Too ashamed by everything that life become meaingless? Just then, while the man was trying to commit suicide, he met the biggest lover of his life who has passed away eight years ago, his mum.
A very interesting story written about a man who saw his mother's ghost after he met an accident. Just for that one day of interaction with his mum, he came to reflect on his life when she was still alive, how he has treated her, whether he has been a good son, a good father to his daughter.
Very easy to read, yet very emotional, especially if you try to place yourself in the author's shoes.
Treat your mum well!
And of course your dad too...!
Do not live till the last moment and regret, wishing for just one more day to spend more time with them. | Category: | Books | | Genre: | Literature & Fiction | | Author: | Anne Rice |
A novel written that focus on Jesus when He was young. I emphasise that it is a frictional novel, written with the imagination of Anne Rice on how Jesus might have lived as a kid between the age of 7 to 12. This isn't like Da Vinci Code, but it is a novel written in the point of view of a Catholic =)
Born as a child, not knowing about His power or the story when He was born, Jesus was like a normal child living among the children in His family and the village that He was living in. Just like any child, He dreamt of nightmare, got hurt in a fight, admire the beauty of our Father's creations. However, He had the power that no other child had, of bringing a child back to life and able to heal the blind man. A child of His age at that time, He has the ability to think and talk like others who are older. He questioned about His birth, why His family members had told Him to be 'careful' with what He prays for, why Joseph and Mary had kept silence about His birth history until He came of age. Story ended when Jesus finally came of age to know the truth about His past. Filled with emotions, Jesus was a human even though He is the Almighty. There is a sequel to the book known as Christ the Lord - The Road to Cana.
A highly recommended novel for Christians and non-Christians. Reading this book has reminded me that although Jesus is God, He came to be human (even though God at the same time) and He knows exactly what it feels to be human. This book has also encouraged me to read up the Gospel again, also to put my imagination into how Jesus was like as a child (which isn't exactly written in the Gospels).
I used to think that even though Jesus came as human, He wouldn't know how it feels to be one as He is God. He must have had been enjoying His time as He would be living as a problem-free human, since He is the Wisdom. This book changed my point of view.
Like I emphasise again, this book isn't the Gospel, but is a good frictional novel written about Jesus Christ. Don't let it become your Bible, for the Truth can only be found in His Words.
You may argue after reading this book that what is written isn't the truth or isn't based on any fact, but I didn't say it is supposed to be the truth? The author didn't say it either =)
Enjoy the reading of the book and let your imagination fly! Pick up your Bible after that and read of His grace and mercy! =D | Category: | Movies | | Genre: | Comedy |
Can't believe that I actually went to catch this show on its opening day, plus I went to watch it with a guy... *Oops...* Hahaha...
The show is kinda funny in a way, where someone would go on to be the bridesmaid for 27 different people and then kept all the dresses in her wardrobe to keep it as collection, and somehow prefer to see people get married rather than herself...?
Very much like the various love story where you can guess the plot easily, where the lady met the prince charming and then get married and live happily ever after. Oh well, is there really such things in real life...? Haha
Isn't as good as what I expected, but what kept me watching was that I paid for the ticket and that the main actress was from Grey's Anatomy, one of my favourite drama series =)
I guess ladies would appreciate this movie better than guys =P | Category: | Movies | | Genre: | Drama |
Have you watch this movie yet?
It is definitely a movie that blown me off to see how fortunate we are, living in a proper house and doesn't even have to worry when will the government get into our bank to take away the money that we owe them through taxes. We don't even have to try to find a place to sleep at night, or even hide inside the toilet of a railway station to spend the night (unless you are drunk and you don't know how to get home).
Happiness in this movie is stated as earning enough money to pass by each day. Happiness to many of us is getting the things that we have always wanted, Nike shoes, Taylor guitars, $5000 laptops, gadgets...
I am sure this movie will touch many of you out there who haven't seen this movie.
If you are placed in the shoes of Chris Gardner (played by Will Smith), working extra hard that he may provide for his son, bringing the smile and happiness to him...
Much words I do not know how to say to describe my feelings after watching this. Catch it if you haven't =)
5 stars... | Category: | Music | | Genre: | Alternative Rock | | Artist: | Chris Daughtry |
Not the winner in American Idol 5, but he definately was one of the singers that caught my ears...
Up to now, I think this is one of the very few albums which I have listened to, that have the style of songs that I really listen to. The way the band tried driving the songs and the way Chris made the song not very 'jarring', a nice combination.
I've gotta say, one of the best albums around
